Our New Place – Sometime Soon?

As I indicated in a previous post, we have decided to sell our current house in England, and move back to Scotland, when Penny (my other half) retires in July! We have reserved a new house, which will be built when we sell our current one, which is on the market! We are very excited about ‘going home’ and I wanted to share a few photographs of places close to Kilwinning, North Ayrshire, where our new home will be! I am not only excited by the move, but also the photographic opportunities it will provide, particularly when we are both retired and can go off on adventures around Scotland when we wish (when the weather forecast for a particular area is at its best)!

You can see sharper versions of the photographs by clicking on each one in turn. I hope you can see why we are excited about ‘going home? I will keep you up-to-date with our changes as they occur, with more Scottish images! Hope to have your company on my blog again soon!

Cheers!

  1. This looks gorgeous!!! I can imagine that you must be pretty excited for this “new” start!!! It looks gorgeous!!! Good luck with the selling of your current home & all other admin!! 😀 **

    • Further back still, I have found your comment about our own ‘change of location’, although I look upon it as ‘going home! No sign of us selling our house yet! The property market here is just dead at the moment so virtually no movement whatsoever! It might take a while therefore before we can have our new house built – we will rent in-between. England and Scotland have two completely separate legal and property systems which means that we have to have sold our house and moved out with the money in the bank before we can sign ‘missives’ for the start of the new build! So we could be a few months in a rented house inbetween! Penny only has 9 weeks left to work and is desperate to get there! Can’t wait!!!

      Cheers!

      • Oh wow!! Sounds complicated!!! I will hold thumbs that you get your house sold soon and that you will be able to build sooner rather than later!!! In the meantime enjoy the good and the bad moments…. it’s part of a great journey!! 🙂 **

  2. I understand your excitement, I would be too ! Wow, you will live in an absolutely gorgeous place. Imagine all these wonderful views and only from 2 to 15 minutes from your home, and all the photographic excursions you will do ! I am certainly looking forward to see these photos. The first photo from this post is really beautiful, they all are but this one is amazing !
